Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Bishops For Everybody!

Old MacDonald had a farm, E-I-E-I-O.
And on that farm he had a BISHOP!, E-I-E-I-O,
With a kiss my ring here and a genuflection there
Here a mitre, there a mitre, everywhere a mitre, mitre
Old MacDonald had a farm, E-I-E-I-O.

Farewell Good Sisters

I wish you would have stayed with us. Your departure only weakens us.

Please have a look at some lovely photos of the convent from the Baltimore Sun.

Yeah, the Novus Ordo will fit in great there, eh?
Enjoy your new picnic table.

What will ACNA look like in twenty years time?

Fragmented

Just like the current alphabet soup of continuing Anglicanism. You must understand, there is nothing holding the various groups together now. Each party will align itself with those of like understanding.

Birds of a feather and all that.

What's the big difference. We have anglo-catholics, evangelicals, charismatics and presbyterians with prayerbooks, and with this, various opinions on the issue of women's ordination. Sounds kind of like the Anglican communion to me.

Oh, that's right I forgot, everyone's in agreement that homosexuality is a sin. That'll hold everything together. Not.

Many on the catholic wing are fed up and want to swim the Tiber. Some think there will be a mass exodus to Rome with the Vatican opening her arms to the multitudes of unhappy Anglican priests. Most with wives, children and annulments in tow.

It will not happen.

Please allow me to introduce myself

With apologies to Molson

I am an Anglo-Catholic

Hey, (taps mic, gets a bit of feedback)

I'm not a Anglo- Papist
Or a Presbyterian with a prayer book
And I don’t like lace
Or wear a biretta or a canterbury cap
I’m not an evangelical nor a charismatic
And I’m not a supporter of Katharine Jefferts Schori, Jack Iker, Peter Akinola or Peter Jensen, because frankly, they’re all a bit loony.

I have an Archbishop not a Pope
I speak English and Latin not Italian
And I wear a surplice not a cotta
I can proudly say my office, pray my rosary and read my Bible.
I believe in covenant not schism.
Diversity not assimilation
I believe in the real presence of OLJC in the most Holy Sacrament of the Altar
And that Her Majesty the Queen should be prayed for by name at every service
A cassock may be single or double breasted
The Anglican Communion is the third largest Christian communion in the world!
A branch of the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church and not an historical accident
I pray for the Bishop of Rome and the Oecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople

My name is Father Hobeau and I am an Anglo-Catholic!
